Level 2 Drought Conditions
Residents should be aware that our most recent drought monitoring in February placed us in a Level 2 Drought. While the February snow melt will help, it won't be enough to fully replenish our groundwater given how prolonged the drought has been. Please see the recommendations from the Massachusetts Drought Management Task Force and report any signs of wells drying up to the Board of Health.
Residents can report dry environmental conditions and?submit?photos to help?monitor?the situation on the?Massachusetts Water Impact Reporter?(here).?Additionally, a?FAQ?is now available for questions?regarding?the current drought status and water conservation; and?private well owners can go here?for information on how the drought?may?impact?them. ?
More information can be found at the NOAA National Integrated Drought Information System website.
