New Variant - Arcturus: this is a subvariant of Omicron. It is not more virulent but is more contagious. In some cases it has presented itself as conjunctivitis in the younger population
May 11th the public health emergency will be over as far as COVID. As of this date insurance companies will no longer be required to pay for tests. Vaccines for under 18 y.o. will still be free. Medicare and Medicaid will still pay but there may be a co-pay.

MOTION, moved by Kathy Llamas, seconded by Devon Whitney-Deal: that Conway Board of Health vote to support the proposed changes to the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition now known as MAPHCO, to commit Conway Board of Health member or designee to attend the MAPHCO annual meeting, and to authorize any Conway Board of Health member or designee that attends the MAPHCO annual meeting to vote in favor of this change at said meeting.
